I received Make Me Bad by author R.S. Grey in exchange for an honest review. This is her 19th book (!!!) to be published, I believe and I think that’s amazing!! I always get really excited when I see that she’s writing another book and get ready for my heart to melt. Make Me Bad was no exception! It was a great, steamy, romantic comedy!!
{Synopsis from Goodreads}
I was issued a warning: stay away from Ben Rosenberg.
As Clifton Cove’s resident “king”, he thinks he’s entitled to anyone and anything.
The trouble is, I’ve spent my whole life following the rules and playing it safe. I know what it feels like to be the good girl. I’m the police chief’s daughter and a librarian—for adorable children, no less. My wardrobe consists of colorful sundresses and baggy jeans. I might as well have a Post-it stuck to my forehead that reads: Yup, she’s a virgin.
An all-nighter with a fictional hunk is about as exciting as my life gets, until one day, fate decides to take pity on me and shove me straight into the path of Mr. Off-Limits himself.
Oof.
Just as I suspected, every inch of him promises to be my demise. Up close, he’s tall, menacing, dangerously handsome—the type of man who’s never spent a single moment worrying about the opinions of others. A well-behaved girl would do as she’s told and avoid him at all costs, but I’m overdue for a little rebellion.
No more Friday nights sprawled out on the couch in my comfiest pajamas. No more wishing I had the courage to misbehave.
Everyone thinks Ben is going to ruin me.
They think he’ll chew me up and spit me out.
Well, Ben…go ahead.
Tempt me. Taunt me.
Make me bad.

Dual Perspective
I loved that we got both Ben and Madison’s point of views in this story. Grey knows how to play off both of the characters and use that to her advantage in her writing – what do I mean by that? Madison thought something about herself, about how Ben perceives her at the end of one of her chapters and then follows that up with Ben’s thoughts on that exact matter in his next chapter. I love how she wrote it like this! It made me grin because we often misinterpret what people are thinking about us alll the time.
The Humor
Okay, Rachel’s books always make me laugh. Her humor gets me. Some books I laugh at more than others but I’d say this is one of the top ones, one of the other top ones was Anything You Can Do. It’s definitely a piece of her writing besides the romance that I look forward to.
The Plot
I thought it was a fun plot. Slightly unrealistic maybe but the best stories always are. I don’t think Madison – being the shy, reserved girl – would blatantly ask Ben to “make her bad” after minutes of just meeting, however it makes for a great story and BOOM the characters are linked – with sexual tension of course right from the start.
I liked the “challenges” that Madison wanted to do to “make her bad” with Ben’s help…I thought there could have been more added, maybe small ones just to add more content to that plot line. My favourite was the tattoo scene though! But runner up is the beach scene!
The Romance
Okay, but we allll know why we’re here. Grey knows how to build that sexual tension like nobody’s business and then execute it with a booming fireworks festival. I’m here for it. Ben and Madison have a great flirty vibe that transitions into something more and its WONDERFUL. The romance scenes that are a little PG -13 ish along with the R- rated scenes are really fantastic. And the will they, won’t they? vibe really dug at yeah which is why I was so tired the next day from staying up to read what was GOING TO HAPPEN and more specifically – how 😉
Favourite Side Character?
I liked Andy a lot, he’s Ben’s best friend and law firm partner and there’s a really humorous scene that plays out from Madison telling Ben to ask Andy something and it’s greatttt. We see quite a bit of Andy throughout the story, he’s the fun – loving, easy going to Ben’s kinda intense and confident nature.
The other side character I was interested in was Colton, Madison’s protective older brother – who doesn’t like Ben at all. He wasn’t in the story much but from the encounters we did have I wanted to know more about him!
Author Easter Egg
There are two epilogues to this story and both are great but one is MAGICAL. Why? Let’s just say there is a cameo if you’ve read enough of Grey’s books that you’d get it but it made me soooo happy!!!

I read my first R.S. Grey the other day and I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed it. I had never heard of her before, but since Hotshot Doc was free on Kindle Unlimited, I thought I’d give it a try. This sounds like another cute on — I’ll definitely be checking it out. Great review 🙂
